a small japanese maple. took this shot (and another one with inverted focus) lying on my back under the tree (the size of a bonsai) trying to capture the late afternoon light on the leaves.

Oooo I love these. I have one in my garden, every year the leaves seem redder than ever before. I have it in a vivid blue painted pot on a square of white stone chippings, all very zen!

jem: oh, yours must look wonderful in blue!
this one grows in my sister's garden and looks prettier every year :)
