well taken this photo, the little explorers in a world too large for them to really understand... aren't they a little like us too?

A lot of people dislike ants yet over here they keep the aphid population down. Delightful photo!
bart: i suppose this is the only world they know and must be fine with it. an individual means nothing for them... ah, there you have it... a bit like humans indeed :)
janice: well, from what i know, ants actually help expand the aphids... they protect, not destroy them.
ladybirds are aphids' sworn enemies, though

Great image. Caught in the act! Sometimes I feel like your blog is a nature documentary with all the pictures but none of the distracting (although often interesting and educational) voice over!
