congrats - probably said before - i decided to stay with a fixed lens rather than an slr but every time i hear of someone getting one i feel a twinge of regret

thank you, floots. as i have said several times before, my compact canon is a great little camera but i felt for some time it was time for an upgrade. i've been thinking about getting an slr for several months but more intensely over the summer, so much even that i almost became obsessed with the idea of acquiring one. the circumstances were not very favourable but eventually an opportunity arose and i went for it just before vacation, so...
i currently use a multipurpose zoom lens (17-85mm; cca 27-135 in 35mm standard)) with image stabiliser (great function!) and i think the next investment will be a telephoto lens (i'm waiting for a sponsor)
the results, i hope, speak for themselves...
they certainly do
(if you get a surplus of sponsors send a few over to me) :)
floots, if i get a surplus of sponsors (fat chance!), i shall deliver the excess dosh (is there such a thing at all?) in person :o)
