Yesterday while walking home from the bus stop, I stepped from the curb while looking over my shlulder for cars. The pavement was quite rough. I tripped and fell, scraping my hand and my knee. I landed by the curb. My satchel landed in the middle of the road. My camera lens landed by the far curb -- in pieces. So far it was the only lens I had, because it was all I could afford. Now I have a lovely -- useless -- camera body until some miracle occurs.
