well, devika and rakesh - these are rose hips :)
and, depends what you consider cold, get zapped. it was just above freezing - as you see, the snow melted as it fell but there was still enough of it to grip to the surface and stay...
quilly - you may be right in terms of the remaining rose hips but the snow was the first of the season (and much too soon as far as i'm concerned)
